BAATS program
What is BAATS?
Basic Airport Administration Training Series which will begin in April 2010 is an 6 part training series that will provide attendees with airport specific courses that will upon completion of the series have provided attendees with a foundation in the basic theory of aviation and the airport industry.
This Training Series is not a certification and participants will not be given a designation of any kind. Instead it is a solution to the minimal training offered for those individuals who want to make a transition from entry level positions to higher positions with a solid background and basic knowledge.
Who Should Attend?
This series is tailored for the following:
- Employees who want to learn more about the airport industry and how an airport runs from top-to- bottom.
- Airport Human Resource departments that want to provide a solid/basic training for entry level employees.
- Airport employees who are interested in moving into airport management.
- AAAE members who need training in specific topics relating to airports or current jobs.
How Does It Work?
Upon completion of each individual course, individuals will receive a certificate of participation. Although this is not a certification program; upon completion of the entire program (6 courses), the individual will receive a framed certificate of completion. It is not a requirement of this program to attend all training courses being offered. Individuals have the option to attend any and all courses in the schedule.

Where Will the Training Take Place?
AAAE has partnered with the Ronald Reagan National Airport and the Port of Portland to provide AAAE members and other professionals in aviation with this training program.
The courses will be conducted at the respective airport training facility. Each registration form will indicate where the training course will take place and the preferred hotels located in close proximity to the respective airport.
