ASOS Background

In a partnership lasting more than 20 years, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have offered baseline and recurrent training for airport industry professionals.  During this period, close to 8,000 public-use and DOD/military airport operations, maintenance and safety personnel have attended these schools.  The subject matter is structured to allow attendees to receive a solid overview of 14 CFR Part 139 requirements, as well as an opportunity to discuss possible revisions or updates to federal guidelines that affect the way airports comply with the regulation.

Why Attend?

ASOS schools are tailored specifically for airport personnel responsible for conducting and maintaining self-inspection programs at public-use and military shared-use airfields throughout the U.S.  These professional ASOS schools also provide an excellent networking platform for airport industry professionals to meet and exchange ideas to continue to make our nation's airports safer and operationally efficient.  This year's ASOS schools are the perfect forum to discuss with FAA representatives how to take proactive steps to implement new practices and clarify existing issues related to part 139 compliance and overall airport safety.

Attendees of the Basic ASOS Schools are entry-level airport operations agents, military personnel, risk management professionals, airport maintenance personnel, ARFF personnel, college students, or other individuals who wish to receive a solid overview of 14 CFR Part 139.  Pre-requisites are not required.
