Accredited Airport Executive Program

AAAE's Accredited Airport Executive program commands respect in the airport industry. Since 1954, AAAE has been committed to the advancement of aviation professionals by granting the A.A.E. designation to those who have demonstrated their ability to handle the responsibilities of airport management, regardless of airport size. Additionally, A.A.E.s can take advantage of exclusive benefits offered to them by AAAE, as we understand the commitment, time and knowledge needed to successfully complete this rigorous program.

Candidates enrolling in the Accredited Airport Executive program are required to meet a number of pre-requisites and complete three phases. Each phase is carefully designed to test one's knowledge, comprehension and understanding of aviation management. Study materials, such as the Body of Knowledge modules and the AAAE Accreditation Study Guide are available for free in electronic format, and for purchase in hard copy format.

In addition to study materials, AAAE offers accreditation candidates various review courses and workshops to assist candidates in completing each phase of the program.

Although there are no formal time limits to complete the program, it is hoped that candidates will complete the program in five years or less. After five years of enrollment, AAAE will impose a $100 administrative fee every year until completion. Should you cancel your program enrollment or AAAE membership, or fail to pay the $100 administrative fee, and wish to resume your program studies at a later date, a $250 reinstatement fee will be imposed.  Once completed, you must affirmatively act to maintain the A.A.E. designation and your membership must remain current at the Executive or Executive In-active level. Additionally, A.A.E.s are required to accumulate a minimum of 55 Continuing Education Units every three years, starting with the date of accreditation.
