A double dose of congratulations is in order for two newly Accredited Airport Executives who earned their A.A.E. at the SEC-AAAE Annual Conference in Huntsville, Alabama.

  • Rebecca Huckaby, A.A.E., VP, Public Relations, Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority. Thank you to her panel members: Eric Frankl, A.A.E., Lexington Blue Grass Airport; Judi Olmstead, A.A.E., Myrtle Beach International Airport; and Doug Kreulen, A.A.E., Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.

  • Andrew La Gala, A.A.E., Assistant Director, Operations, Tampa International Airport. Thank you to his panel members: Tommy Bibb, A.A.E., Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority; Lew Bleiweis, A.A.E., Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority; and Mark Day, A.A.E., Lexington Blue Grass Airport.

Special thanks to Mihai Smighelschi, A.A.E., of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority, for mentoring both candidates as the former Southeast Chapter BOE Representative.

Becoming an A.A.E. is a great way to command respect in the airport industry. Since 1954, AAAE has been committed to the advancement of aviation professionals by granting the A.A.E. designation to those who have demonstrated their ability to handle the responsibilities of airport management. The program is open to Affiliate members of AAAE and IAAE. Having an A.A.E. is a useful credential when seeking employment within the airport management profession.

You can learn more about the A.A.E. process and download an application on our website.
