The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is pleased to present the International Airport Emergency Preparedness Conference to be held June 20-22, 2016, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, 9700 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819-8114, hosted by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).
Airports are busy local hubs that attract large numbers of people every day. Most of the time, traffic flows, passenger processing is routine, aircraft come and go, and the community is well served. However, the unexpected does happen at airports, and airport operators, tenants, local community, federal and state government agencies, and other key personnel necessary for airport Emergency Response must be prepared at all times to work together to mitigate any type of threatening situation that occurs.
Airport emergencies require an immediate and coordinated response. The AAAE International Airport Emergency Preparedness Conference focuses on the exceptions, when the unexpected happens or dangerous conditions do occur. Through prepared presentations, open discussions, and actual emergency management case studies, this conference primarily will focus on all types of airport emergencies, including aircraft accidents, natural disasters, power failures, terrorist acts, etc., and coordinated response efforts as identified by the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and other federal regulations. This conference also will assist airport operators and key response personnel in creating a 360-degree view of emergency preparedness.
