General Information

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is pleased to host the 2016 U.S.-China Aviation Summit, June 19-21 at the Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown Hotel in Washington, D.C. The Summit is an excellent opportunity for U.S. industry and government officials to engage China’s senior aviation leaders in substantive discussions on aviation policies, commercial opportunities for U.S. businesses, U.S. trade opportunities, and U.S. technologies and best practices in China’s growing aviation sector.

China is forecast to become the world’s largest aviation market by 2033 and is expected to invest $11.7 billion in the development of numerous civil aviation projects, including new airports in Beijing, Chengdu, Qingdao, Xiamen and Dalian. Given these predictions of sustained and substantial infrastructure growth, China’s aviation sector represents a major commercial opportunity for U.S. industry.

The Summit will cover a number of pressing topics such as new air traffic management technologies and management procedures, air traffic control capacity and efficiency, aircraft environmental issues, safety certification, airport sustainability, and general aviation development, among other issues vital to China’s expanding aviation infrastructure.

USTDA is pleased to partner with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, the Transportation Security Administration, and the U.S. Departments of Transportation, Commerce, and Homeland Security on this important event.

The American Association of Airport Executives is organizing this event on behalf of USTDA. For more information, please contact Mr. Spencer Dickerson, American Association of Airport Executives, phone 703.578.2511, or email sdickerson@aaae.org.
