Training Workshop: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting
and Stakeholder Engagement in Airport Operations

The workshop will help management of any level at small, medium and large hub airports to advance their thinking on positioning sustainability as a driver for strategic differentiation and innovation. Participants will hear how other leaders are integrating sustainability reporting into their operational practices. By leveraging lessons learned and leading practices from other airports, as well as sharing their challenges and experiences with peer colleagues, participants will evaluate what has and has not been working in their stakeholder engagement and reporting processes. 

At the end of the workshop, it is expected that attendees will have advanced their capacity to gain deeper engagement from internal and external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives, as well as to publish a report in accordance with GRI Standards.

COURSE CONTENT
Through practical training, this two-day course will provide:

Module one (day one) - Stakeholder Engagement and Materiality Assessments to inform your Sustainability Report and Strategy
- Introduction to the case for sustainable development
- Overview of the GRI Standards
- Identify your stakeholders needs and expectations
- Effectively engage with your stakeholders
- Determine material Sustainability/CSR issues in alignment with Global Report Initiative (GRI) Standards

Module two (day two) – Deep-dive: Reporting process using the GRI Standards
- Understand GRI Standards at an in-depth level
- Understand how to use the GRI airport sector supplement
- Create a Sustainability/CSR report action plan, including report indicators
- Create a sustainability communications plan
- Understand report verification options
