BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE

Tuesday, March 26, 2019
USTDA Business Center | 1101 Wilson Blvd. | 10th Floor| Arlington, Virginia

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is hosting the India Airport Development Reverse Trade Mission to advance strategic bilateral cooperation and to connect U.S. industry to commercial opportunities in India’s growing aviation market. The Indian delegation includes seven high-level Indian civil aviation officials.

Over the last decade, India’s civil aviation industry has grown tremendously. According to India’s National Civil Aviation Policy, India aims to become the world’s third largest aviation market, with the capacity to handle 500 million domestic passengers and 200 million international passengers annually by 2027.

Currently, India represents the third largest market in the world in terms of domestic traffic, handling 117 million passengers in 2017, with a year-over-year growth rate of approximately 20 percent for the past three years.  Despite the recent growth, India’s aviation sector is facing some critical infrastructure challenges. Expansions of facilities, construction of new runways and terminals, and development of regional airports are required to sustain the sector’s growth trajectory. The infrastructure deficiencies, especially in the Tier I airports, are resulting in congestion and operational challenges. These projections and the sector’s rapid growth pose significant commercial opportunities for U.S. companies in all aspects of airport development including air traffic management, air navigation and communications systems, and aviation security equipment, as well as business and general aviation technologies and services.

To connect U.S. companies to new project opportunities, USTDA will host a Business Roundtable on March 26, 2019 at 3:00-5:00 p.m. at USTDA’s Business Center, 1101 Wilson Blvd., 10th floor, Arlington, Virginia. At the oundtable, the Indian delegates will present on upcoming projects, followed by a discussion with U.S. industry participants. From 5:00-6:30 p.m., there will be a networking reception at USTDA’s Business Center. Registration is now closed. Download the business roundtable flyer .
