Daniel Morelos has over 30 Years in the aviation industry employed with the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA). He served as the Director of Operations and Director of Communications/Dispatch at the Tucson Airport Authority for impressive 31 years. Daniel Morelos is currently the Director of Safety Programs at the Tucson Airport Authority with the responsibility for planning, managing and coordinating various assigned affairs and actions of the Operations Department; reporting operational results, and providing chronological systems, through the airport’s Safety Management System. He also provides consultation, expertise, and exercises functional authority over airport staff in essential matters of safety, health, process improvement, and risk.
Daniel is an active member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO). He currently serves as Chair of the APCO Standards Development Committee (SDC). He is a certified trainer through APCO and sits on the following public safety communications committees: SDC Training Sub-Committee, Occupational Analysis Sub-Committee, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1221 Committee. Under his direction, the Communications/Dispatch Department became an accredited agency by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in March 2003. This earned TAA the distinction of having the first Airport Communications Center to receive such an award.

- Active member on the AAAE Operations, Safety, Planning and Emergency Management Committee.
- Serves on the AAAE/SMS sub-committee and also AAAE Training Committee.
