Session #2: Building and Implementing an EOC: Does It Still Make Sense Today?

The pandemic forced many airports to suspend critical airport improvements, including Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs). This session will feature a conversation between airports that are at different stages of implementing EOC projects. Speakers will discuss the changes that occurred due to the pandemic; lessons learned throughout the various planning stages; and the benefits of and outlook for virtual EOCs.

Session #4: Natural Disaster Recovery: Highlighting Airport Emergency Responses

Many airports are prone to natural weather events that severely impact their operations. This session will cover different case studies where airports have safely defused imminent emergency situations arising out of natural disasters, including, among others, tornadoes that devastated parts of central Tennessee, and strong hurricanes impacting parts of the South. Learn how these emergency response teams “literally” weathered the storm.
