General Information

COURSE INFORMATION
Members of the armed forces are accustomed to being trained to perform at high levels. The Civilian/Military Airport Connection (CMAC) is the next step in training, in order to become more hirable, and more valuable to a future or current civilian airport employer. This is a two-part course. Attendees can choose to attend one or both of the sessions.

The Military Connection Workshop, held on Monday, will provide an introduction to the commercial airport world giving attendees a grasp of the different missions and complexities of civilian airport operations. The focus will be on the significant differences and similarities, between military airport operations versus civilian, as well as civilian cultures, expectations and pitfalls. Another critical component of this workshop is a discussion on how to approach the job market, including translating military experience into civilian language on a resume, so HR representatives will recognize that candidates have the requisite skills for the job. AAAE military members will also have the opportunity to be matched with an industry mentor through our Mentor Match program.

The ACE Airfield Operations Course, held Tuesday-Friday, offers attendees the opportunity to earn the AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Airfield Operations certification. The ACE Airfield Operations certification, is a Part 139-based curriculum designed to educate and challenge airport personnel with airfield operations responsibilities or anyone interested in a related career. This interactive 4-day course is comprised of professional developed material based on Part 139 requirements and is delivered through several methods: lectures, case studies, and videos. The course materials have been review by FAA and senior operations personnel at large and small hub airports around the country. ACE - Airfield Operations covers universally applicable airfield information, as well as operational regulations and procedures specific to your airfield. Having this designation shows a civilian employer that a candidate understands commercial airport operations, and helps reduce any period of adaptation or adjustment. This certification is highly recognized across the aviation industry and gives those certified an edge in the job market. All attendees of this course will be enrolled in the ACE Operations program upon registration and must pass the exam at the end of the course to earn the certification.

EXAM INFORMATION
The ACE Operations course will conclude with a 100 question multiple-choice exam that must be passed with a 70% or higher in order to receive the ACE certification. The exam is based on the ACE Airfield Operations modules, which you will receive access to once you register for the course. You can also order hard copies of the modules here.
