Dan oversees the satellite launch program and leads the Virgin Orbit team in all aspects of development, manufacturing, test, and commercial operations of the LauncherOne small satellite launch service.
Dan joined Virgin Orbit after more than three decades of aerospace leadership at the Boeing Company, where he most recently served as Vice President of Government Satellite Systems. In that position, he oversaw all aspects of Boeing’s government satellite programs across the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, NOAA, National Programs and experimental systems—including marquee programs such as Global Positioning System (GPS), Wideband Global SATCOM, and the Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS) system. Over the course of his employment with Boeing and, prior to that, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and the European Space Agency, Dan served in senior leadership roles through all phases of the aerospace product life cycle from research and development through development, production and flight operations, and has supported numerous space launch missions across human space, satellite development, and missile defense. He also has extensive launch vehicle experience, including serving as the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test leader for the development of the Delta IV Launch Vehicle.
