As aviation security threats continue to evolve and become increasingly sophisticated, governments, airports and airlines worldwide have implemented additional enhancements to keep the traveling public safe and secure. AAAE/IAAE will be hosting the Global Aviation Security Conference, in conjunction with the Israel Airports Authority, May 22-24, 2018, at Herods Hotel Herzliya in the northern district of Tel Aviv, Israel. In keeping with the theme “Staying Ahead of an Evolving Threat,” this conference will focus on the complex issues currently in aviation security that airport operators, airlines and policymakers face around the globe. Hosted in what is commonly regarded as one of the most challenging security environments in the world, attendees will hear directly from high-caliber international aviation security experts, and see first-hand cutting edge security operations and technologies in use at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
This conference will provide an opportunity to examine security policies and technologies in place today, as well as security innovations that are on the horizon. Additionally, attendees will engage in frank discussions about how the government and the aviation industry can work together in partnership to confront future security challenges in ways that increase security and traveler convenience worldwide.
Also included will be a full day at Ben Gurion International Airport on May 24, during which attendees will participate in immersive briefings with airport officials about their renowned security programs and observe security drills. Participants also will receive a comprehensive tour of the airport, including security checkpoints, inspection and questioning facilities, the airport's hold baggage screening system — an automated security check system for inspection of passenger luggage, and cybersecurity facilities.
Senior executives from the national governments, airport and airline representatives, and recognized industry leaders in the global aviation security arena will participate in this program.
All sessions will take place at Herods Hotel Herzliya, in the northern district of Tel Aviv (https://www.herods-hotels.com/herods-hotels/herods-herzliya/). The conference begins with an opening reception at 1830 at the Herods Hotel Herzliya on Tuesday, May 22 (registration will open at 1800), and concludes with a tour of Ben Gurion International Airport security facilities at 1700 on Thursday, May 24.
