3 Unexpected Futures of Autonomous Vehicles at Airports
Autonomous vehicles will prove disruptive to both airports and airlines, with self-driving cars taking market share from regional air routes and draining essential revenue from airport parking garages. However, there will also be surprising ways in which autonomous vehicles advance commercial aviation, and perhaps solve some of the most intractable problems for both airport operators and passengers. Devin Liddell, Principal Futurist at TEAGUE, will present three vignettes of autonomous vehicles—big and small—at work in the airport of the near future across security checkpoints, baggage handling, and even boarding processes.
Dave Wilson, Director, Airport Innovation, Port of Seattle

The Right Way to Use Audiovisual and Digital Technologies to Improve Passenger Engagement
How do you optimize non-aeronautical revenue and improve the passenger experience? Audiovisual and digital technologies can create compelling outcomes-just don't pursue technology for technology's sake. When your strategy serves a larger purpose, works in tandem with new and existing spaces to activate an environment, and engages passengers along their journey, it can fundamentally change aviation. Learn from projects inside and outside the airport industry about a process for developing a digital experience based on research (the why), design and construction (the how), and storytelling that maximizes ROI (the how much).

11 a.m. - 12 p.m.   Innovation Gardens – How Airports Can Create, Scale, and Sustain Innovation
Innovation is more than just the latest technology. Adaptive airports recognize that, as new technologies arrive every day, success is driven not just by finding these technologies, but also by how they are brought together. However, different types of innovation need different structures, processes, governance, and incentives to make them a reality. How can airports establish an “innovation gardens” that allow them to best create, scale, and sustain innovation? During this session facilitated by Deloitte Innovation Leader Alan Holden, we will explore what successful “innovation gardens” looks like, and talk with entrepreneurs from outside aviation who have successfully created innovation capabilities on their own turf – highlighting tactical steps that airports can take to establish their own innovation architecture.
