Session 8: Intelligent Runway Status Indication System (IRSIS)

Winners of the Airport Cooperative Research Program’s “University Design Competition for Addressing Airport Needs” will present their design called “IoT in the Cockpit: Intelligent Runway Status Indication System (IRSIS),” which can monitor surface traffic movements as well as airborne traffic, detect potential incursion risks, and communicate warning information to pilots, controllers, and ground crew in a real-time manner.
